In this blog post, we will explore how to add real-time collaboration to a React.js application using WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication).

What is WebRTC?

WebRTC is an open-source project that enables real-time communication between web browsers and mobile applications. It provides protocols and APIs for establishing peer-to-peer connections, allowing audio and video streaming, as well as data sharing, without the need for plugins or external applications.

Setting up the React.js project

Establishing a connection using WebRTC

Using WebRTC, we can create a peer-to-peer connection between users for real-time collaboration. Here’s an example of how to establish a connection in a React.js application:

We emit the “offer” signal to the server whenever the SimplePeer object emits a “signal”. And when we receive an “answer” signal from the server, we call the p.signal method to complete the peer connection.

Remember to replace 'https://example.com' with the actual URL of your server.
